Piano | Onofrio
Technicians

Onofrio
Piano Co. staffs 7 piano service technicians. Each technician is an
expert in his field, whether it be piano tuning, piano voicing,
piano refinishing, piano rebuilding, the installation of player
piano systems or servicing customer pianos. To have maintenance
done on your piano call: (303) 777-2636 or email us
here and one of our friendly
technicians will arrange to visit your piano. This same
technical staff preps every piano in our inventory - new or used.
This includes 4-5 tunings, voicing when necessary, and regulating the
action if necessary, both prior to and after delivery. You can buy
from Onofrio Piano with the assurance that the piano will meet or
exceed the manufacturers expectations for performance and longevity.
MAINTAINING YOUR PIANO
Regular tuning is necessary to the
life of the piano. It is recommended that a new piano be tuned 4
times the first year. However, every piano on our showroom floor
receives 4 - 5 tunings, if not more, so that you don't have to do as
many tunings in the home the first year. After the first year, our
technicians recommend you tune your piano two times per year.
Consistency is the key, so whatever time of year you choose to tune,
keep them in the same two months.
Place your piano on any
level in your home that is above ground. Basements are not
recommended for acoustic pianos. If a basement or walk out basement
is your only option for placement, a digital piano is the perfect
alternative.
The best placement in
your home would be away from heat vents and on an inside wall. A
cold air return is okay for the piano to be next to, if necessary.
If the home is newer and you have great insulation, an outside wall
should be okay.
For polishing, use the following guidelines:
Wood lacquer- use a lightly damp cheesecloth
followed by a dry one
High gloss polyester- use a lightly damp cheesecloth followed by a
dry one or use a special spray that is available through Onofrio
Piano Co.
Satin ebony- use a lightly damp cheesecloth followed by a dry one or
use a special spray that is available through Onofrio Piano Co.
